Got DX for he xbox last night and really liked playing the handful of rounds I ran through, but I'm kinda disturbed be the fact that the line of ghosts practically stops and waits for you if you get butted up against a wall. Is this game a little too easy?

Will someone please tell me whether Need For Speed Hot Pursuit has manual gear shifting? I can't find a review that addresses that, & I don't like the lack of shifting in Criterion's Burnout game.
