hes come out against SOPA but not PIPA

The thing is, if it passes it affects most of the world. If a US-based site is taken down bc of SOPA/PIPA, no one in the world can reach it (unless they relocate, etc). So Google (for example) wouldn't just go down here, because all of their US accounts would be blocked, traffic to/through US servers could be

Hopefully that'll change as it expands, both geographically and customer base/popularity wise. It's only available in some parts of Europe & the US now so it could be that music from other parts of the world might not be worth the investment it would take...

i cant argue w/any of what you said, esp the pipa part. at least they dont (publicly) support it. but i can definitely see where you're coming from

o ok. i understood what you meant by proprietary but didnt realize that your problem with it was an ideological one. I thought that it was more related to fear that it may be misused/mishandled since you mentioned trusting a company. my bad.

That technical knowledge being required is why I added in the part about it being easy. Its a lot easier to let somebody else do all the work and just let me press the button.

While I agree that traditionally social networks are pretty fluid and that FB isnt going to change that, I think it does have a lot of good uses that wouldnt be possible, or at least as easy, without it (or something similar). There are a lot of people who I wouldnt have kept in touch with w/o FB, people Ive

well...one of the effects of tobacco smoke is COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), basically bronchitis + emphysema. symptoms are narrow airways and trouble breathing. exposure to cigarette smoke also causes other lung capacity related problems (asthma in children, etc). so the study at least suggests that

WWWOOOOOWWWW!!! THIS is the reason I love io9. I had been trying to remember the name of the attraction FOREVER. Cranium Command and The Making of Me were some of my favorite attractions when I went to Disney as a kid, but I couldn't remember their names. Thanks. I think I had been trying to remember the name since

you can fly...you can fight and you can *crows obscenely loud in the middle of my cube farm* lol

doesnt sound safe. but it does sound like it might be better than revolutions. lol

Yo dawg...I heard you like genitals in your genitals so...nvm

I was mainly commenting on distrust of medical treatment in general.

The last theory I read said it was a mix of slave labor & regular labor.

Dont forget B'ellana & Tom. That was one of my favorites...

I don't think the sense of adventure would be taken out of it at all. The same thing that gives people wanderlust and makes people want to be scientists, explorers, daredevils, etc here on Earth today would still be a part of the human condition in the future imo. Most of the landmass on the Earth is fairly well
