The Astra was pretty bland and was cursed by GM's awful interior materials and design. Still is. The G8 was a genuinely good car.

Most bad cars get good reviews in their home countries. The Americans and us British being some of the worst offenders.

The inside seems to be a very fine place to spend time as well, and that's true whether you're in the front seats or if you slide into the back seats via the hinged rear doors. Back there, passengers can control various functions via a detachable tablet, and there's also a retractable tablet so you can enjoy "a very

It's beautiful. But it's certainly not worth 55 grand.

It's a quirky French advert about a quirky French car. What did you expect?

"Congress" Well, there's your problem.

I don't see why they can't make a business case for it. It won't sell many units, so make it a special order car for those select few enthusiasts. I doubt they'd have to spend much money at all making it legal to sell in America, so why not?

That interior looks awful, in design and materials. And all these details are just cheesy.

What a load of rubbish.

Mr. Donckerwolke, what are some of your favourite cars on sale today from a design standpoint, and what car(s) do you think was/is the most beautiful ever made?

Oops, wrong reply button, sorry about that.

If I ride in a luxury vehicle, it had better not roll much when it corners, and it had better have a good ride with little body motion. I really doubt this van can deliver an acceptable ride and still have minimal body motions.

I rarely like vehicles of this type with "funky" styling, but I really like this. I wouldn't be likely to buy it, but it looks good.

True, it wouldn't meet pedestrian impact standards and would be pretty dangerous in an accident. Let's face it, the guy did something that was fairly dangerous and totally illegal, even if he was careful and smart about it. Unfortunately, you have to legislate for all the idiots out there.

I don't think the door were the problem, the lights were. Though I'd be amazed if you could pass MOT without doors.

I'm European. I avoid public transport when I can. I'd much rather take a taxi than a bus, even if it costs me £20 I don't have. Trains are generally okay, but even then, give me a car any day.

I want that. I think it looks way better than the coupe.

Useful =/= affordable. Period.

The problem I have with this is that while BMW interiors are nice, they don't feel all that luxurious. Audi, Mercedes, and Jaguar all have interiors that look and feel miles better, based on their more cohesive designs. A 9 series would be full of incredible technology but would look dull on the inside and outside.

The reason they're testing it in a 911, I imagine, is to test the engine itself in a reliable and predictable testbed, without giving away the fact that they're putting a flat 4 in the 981.
