To be honest, as much as the interior sucks, it's not really going to make muchof a difference in sales. Someone like me wouldn't buy a Challenger even if I did live in America where ownership of one would be feasible. Just not my type of car, though still cool.

I sat in a 392. Great seats, but the dashboard is disgusting. Worst dashboard I've ever seen on a car. For $45,000? I wouldn't pay 5 grand for a car with that interior.

This car would be awesome, if you didn't have to sit in it to drive it.

Politics in America. I will never understand them. By the way, wouldn't the drugs be more suicide-worthy that the fact that he was in a car?

That's probably because he doesn't have to. Unfortunately, in America, public transport is dismal and nobody wants to take it.

Woah, the headline shows a clear bias against public transport. Why the hate? It's even good for us car enthusiasts, because it minimises traffic, minimises the need for emissions and fuel economy legislation, and helps us reduce wear on our precious cars.

Hang on, is this a joke? At least half of the cars on that list are there because they're dumb (EXT, ZDX) or outclassed (Lancer, S80, Tribeca).

Facelifted you say? What's changed? Looks the same to me. And a disclaimer for American members, it looks good in photos but in person the proportions look very odd, like a Q5 that shrunk around its frame.

Michael Bolton? Doesn't he do software work for Intertrode?

Piles of junk? VWs aren't junk. You just have to look around at their sheer numbers ont the road to know that. German build quality.

Ye, the European cycle isn't as demanding. But the European engines are far more efficient.

I'm well aware of the difference. The European model gets 50 MPG US.

I'm enjoying our discussion; I too come across as an ass a lot of the time, as you can tell, I'm very opinionated.

The point is, this car is about fuel effficiency, yes? That's the selling point. The problem is that it isn't that efficient for a car that's all about efficiency. Slowness is relative, if you're a good driver it won't make much difference unless you want to absolutely flog it.

That seems like splitting hairs to me, but I know nothing of economics.

I just sat in it for about a minute. It didn't seem that weird, but it didn't seem normal either. I guess I'd have to drive it, though, to make a proper judgement.

The interior reminds me of the Pug 308, which I had a chance to sit in recently. The Pug's interior is cleaner and a bit more upscale, but this wins because it doesn't have that stupid steering wheel and gauge layout. But that's not the point of this car. It'll be awesome to drive, I'm sure.

Yeah, both the US and UK should just switch to litres. At least we're somewhat converted to metric. Imperial units are ridiculous.

Fracking is terrible for the environment. For a start, you can tell because the oil companies refuse to tell anyone what chemicals they're using, not even the EPA. My great uncle, a retired petroleum geologist, is totally against it based ont he environmental effects. And growing up in Pittsburgh, I saw plenty of news

You know, the base petrol engine in the Passat here gets 7.3 MPG imperial better than what this concept gets. It seems to me like you lot are getting screwed by the car companies, or brainwashed. Americans think a mediocre engine is amazingly fuel efficient, when by international standards it isn't. All VW has to do
