I opted for TracFone because I just wanted a cell phone for use in the car (emergencies, primarily). When they had a sale offering double minutes for life, there really was no way I thought I could ever beat the price. I spend $20 every 90 days for the service, which keeps my minutes from expiring.

Well, I'm guessing that's either a loophole or a mistake somewhere. Could come back on you if they discover the mistake.

That was my question, too. I did a quick Google search and found this:

Seriously?? This was 3 days ago, and you're still on about this? Let it go, dude.

I made a very brief comment regarding the article, and Lifehacker's apparent approval of dishonest behavior. If you think it's a waste of your time, you're welcome to skip right over it. My "bitching" is only a waste of your time if you choose to read and respond to it. If you can't understand my point, well, I

Bullshit. Even if the whole "Knowing evil means knowing how to beat it" shtick weren't just an excuse for posting ways to be dishonest, this article about tricking your way into the elite status line at the airport doesn't really fit. How does knowing how to do this help me "beat" any "evil?"

Another Lifehacker "DIY for the Unethical" article.

Good god, how dependent are people on these stupid little gadgets?

A friend of mine tried ophcrack on here Win7 system when she forgot her password. It just froze. She had everything backed up, and she was planning to install Win 8 anyway, so she just blew it away and did a fresh install.

I can't believe anyone would defend texting while driving. Every single study that has looked at this has shown that texting while driving leads to more accidents. Most studies show that talking on the phone while driving (even hands-free) is just as bad as drinking and driving. Why is this worse than changing the

Re: US National Park Free Entrance Day, it isn't just national parks, but some other facilities operated by the National Park Service. I went to the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site in Vancouver, WA a couple years ago. It happened to be one of these free entrance days.

I've fortunately never had a power surge or lightning strike damage any equipment, but even at this unit's price (around $85), I think it's a pretty good insurance policy for equipment that I spent over $1,000 for. This unit comes highly recommended, and is well-designed and solidly built. 3,570 joule rating (the

As far as I'm concerned, guacamole is a waste of good avocados. I have yet to find an avocado recipe that beats just eating them straight.

Has anyone considered keeping a piece of paper and a pen/pencil on you? You could just write down where your car is. My god, what has happened to us, when we are so dependent on technology?

Cars 'at least' 20 years old will likely not have a remote. And, as the author said in the article, he doesn't have a remote. The point of the article is ways to remember where your car is when you don't have such conveniences.

I've found that WD-40 works pretty well, but before I use any solvent, the first thing I try is a piece of Scotch tape. If I've just pulled the label off, and if there's a large enough piece of it, the old label itself can work for this. Repeatedly pressing and releasing the adhesive side of tape onto the surface

Yeah, we were raised with the tomato juice treatment for skunk. Works on laundry, too, not just dogs.

Ugh. Talk about Crap City. :)

Voyager was a pretty good show, but I could never handle Kate Mulgrew's voice. Grating, and her acting was worse. She looked like she was in a 1940s Flash Gordon serial most of the time.
