The conversation in my house was, “screw this we’re canceling - wait new Witcher? Shit!” They timed that perfectly, tbh.

Half-Life 2: Episode 2, left us on the biggest cliffhanger. And my psyche will never recover from it.

Good mystery writing is not found in making something “unpredictable,” it’s in having the skill to write something that is hidden in plain sight.

It’d take a whole essay for me to explain why but Shadow of the Colossus has to have one of the all time great video game endings. What other game wordlessly hammers home its message about grief by conditioning you to hold on as tight as possible the entire game before forcing you to physically let go in the final

Out of eight paragraphs in this article, three of them are about an entirely different show. Is this a sample piece to get a job writing for a Disney+ Star Wars show?

I might see it out of morbid curiosity of the hilarity of Nolan trying to do a character study.

Not sure what a rightwing covid denier is doing lurking around the AV Club, but here:

Apparently the movie depicts Oppenheimer as remorseful and uneasy about the use of the bomb in Japan, and Nolan has justified not showing the bombings and the impact by claiming that Oppenheimer wasn’t really involved in the bombings.

My mother died “with COVID” not “from COVID” although it was COVID that did her in along with her existing heart condition.

This is absolutely false and should be deleted by the moderators. Excess deaths is the only meaningful metric given the incomplete availability of tests and understanding of the sequelae of infection, and it’s not even in debate among serious mortality experts — COVID-19 caused more deaths than the official counts

According to Wikipedia, this was all confirmed when it was announced at the end of 2020, even before they changed the name from Captain Marvel 2 to The Marvels a few months later. But apparently Feige already had the sequel mapped out around the time of the first film’s release two years earlier, so it makes sense

I would have guessed this was still part of ABC/Disney plan to do just to give general audiences a chance to get some background on the new Marvels movie.

I think it’s more because your viewing habits and expectations have changed more than anything else.

There are obviously 2 episodes left, but so far it really does feel like it would’ve been better as a binge drop or a special presentation/movie doesn’t it?

It’s a great show. Hopefully, this will ead to more people learning about Pakistani history and culture, which is a good thing.

I mean the conditions are a bummer but at the same time a rookie actress who was one of most critically acclaimed parts of this show is now about to get prime time focus on a national station.

Well they'd have to follow network TV rates, so pretty decent residuals based on ratings.

It’s on a real network...but it’s a one off...so...yeah, probably.

does that mean more residuals for these shows, if so that’s almost a win

Really? Because I would say “Secret Invasion” was the least pumped series in, at least, recent memory. (Which, by the way, is the most nonsensical writing I recall seeing in Marvel.)
