Literally phoned it in. HAAA!

Samantha is definitely a character I think would age gracefully.

Carrie: The devils coming for ya.

It was a banger. I wouldn’t have been reading an article about MTG cards without it.

lmao sadly “Canon is a fool’s stricture” is a 100% Linda Codega original phrase, and sadly I’ve wasted it in the dek of an io9 blog.

In the biz we call that a Siagnosis.

Magic fans have known this for about a year. The fact that all the racists are coming out of the woodwork now, when the mainstream announcement is made, tells you a lot about who is really getting angry at this: people who are threathened by pictures in a card game they don’t play. In other words immature, insecure

Canon is a fool’s stricture” Is this yours or an older quote? I ask because it sums up how I feel about a lot of the stupid complaints (not just racist ones) about entertainment properties I’ve seen, so I’m going to steal it.

I always put them under the bed and say “I’ll throw it away in a few weeks”. I still have boxes under there from years ago.

Public rating system’s like IMDB’s don’t actually reflect anything useful, so why would I pay any attention to those numbers?

Kate was originally the lead but they foregrounded Jack instead.

I feel the same way about Star trek Discovery’s use of queer characters right now. Yeah, they have five queer characters!

And they all hang out together in the ship’s basement only doing queer stories and interacting with the rest of the cast as little as possible. And wow, it’s amazing to have the first transmasc in

Especially since Yunjin Kim, already a huge movie star in Korea at the time, actually auditioned to play Kate, and the whole characters of Sun and Jin were created because they were impressed enough to want her on the show but refused to make her the female lead.

It’s also a weirdly consistent touch - she doesn’t have any food when Shiv and Roman visit way back in season 1, either. It’s always very, “Oh, right, children need that to live, don’t they?”

The lack of food in the refrigerator - after she had invited her family to visit - was such a great touch.  She really doesn’t have any maternal instincts at all, and then we learned the main reason for the invitation was a pitch meeting for her toady husband’s friend.

It seemed like a completely believable decision by her. The realization that she could vote one way and just end it (not really thinking about the long term Tom scenario), or vote the other and go through this same scene repeatedly for the next 40 years of her life. She realized that they weren’t winning, they were

nah bud, you are.

Eh, I wouldn’t call his arc the cleanest. He was willing to throw away his love for Shiv and betray her to Logan and Matsson, promote Nazis, and abuse Greg if it meant furthering his own interests.

You caught me, I clearly loathe this TV show I have written 25,000 words about and given uniformly high scores to.

Give me OG Parker, or give me death!
