McQuarrie didn’t helm Ghost Protocol. Brad Bird did. McQ did Rogue Nation and Fallout.

I can only speak for myself, but we have four PS5s.  I’m a gamer, my wife is a gamer and my two daughters are gamers.  And we all play together.  So everyone has their own.

They’re not making them Xbox-exclusive, though, except in the sense that they’re not available on PlayStation or a Nintendo console. They’re making them Microsoft-exclusive, which means Xbox and PC, at least for now.

We pretty much have an entire social media community committed to Losing Its Damn Fool Mind, don’t we?

Eh, it’s still the first thing that comes to mind when this movie is mentioned.

The regular price for Spectrum’s 300Mb down (and something like 15Mb up) is only $10 less than what I pay for gigabit up & down. It’s madness.

i live in a town with 160k people and we only just got out from under the spectrum monopoly. they only offered 100mb down for 60$ for years. then they bumped people up to 200 about 5 years ago. once fiber started getting laid they gave people a free bump to 300 but it was 70$ by that time. when i called to cancel they

Huh. Pretty sure I typed AVClub in my browser. Not sure why I got a People magazine article instead.

There is no fucking way Miller is better than Keaton in this. Unless Keatons only in it for like 10 minutes.

There are literally tens of millions of gamers who have absolutely no interest in playing on PC and the constant hardware upgrades/troubleshooting that entails. They want a set-top box that is compatible with every piece of software available for it without tweaking. They do not want to pay 4x-8x the cost for a gaming

If one thing is certain, is that social media reactions are always the most honest. It’s happened every time. Just look at Antman!

Kinda ironic that flashing people is the one crime Ezra Miller hasn’t been accused of.

I thought that “cancelled” started with the #cancelcolbert hashtag after Stephen Colbert made some jokes incorporating Asian stereotypes. (They were making fun of someone else’s complete tone-deafness, but the person who started the hashtag thought that was no excuse.) But I thought the idea was that they wanted to

I get the distinct impression that Microsoft doesn’t care about consoles and wants to get themselves into a position where they don’t have to make them - that is, it feels like their endgame is to steer people in one of two directions - users who want a fuller, more robust experience will have to play on PC, and

“cancel culture and/or feminism in general is sex-negative”

I interpreted it as the “cancel culture and/or feminism in general is sex-negative” take, which is something I firmly disagree with (but I’ve seen this interpretation more than once). Being against coercive relationships in the workplace, having sensitivity coaches during sex scenes, and not forcing people to do nude

Almost as if that’s why we have a justice system…

I don’t know what to tell ya.  It was ours first, notwithstanding whatever this David Bax person has to say.

What’s the “nuanced take” here?

Even if you truly believe in your heart of hearts that cancel culture has gone “too far,” it’s not new. The public has been fickle for decades and turned on people for saying or doing the “wrong” thing.
