The pleasant surprise, for me, was the inclusion of the Corto Maltese rebellion subplot. It was a good enough counterbalance to the story of the Ugly Americans cutting through nameless South Americans. That it actually ended up being the metaphorical spear to Waller’s eye was a nice payoff as well.

I was pleasantly surprised after thinking the trailers were mediocre. Idris Elba is so effortlessly charming, it makes me mad how Marvel wasted him. I haven’t seen much of John Cena’s acting and this is probably my favorite. Enthusiastic jock really suits him.

Watched it on Wednesday at IMAX cinema. First movie since the pandemic started. Enjoyed it a lot. Laughed a lot. And got the normal I’m exhausted from all the feels afterwards.(And the movie made me really miss my two rats that I had when I lived in Uppsala. Rats are truely amazing and caring pets.
