The problem is... the show is good and has been for years. It’s probably even great now and has taken some of the most insightful political opinions I’ve seen a mainstream show take — and I’m left anarchist so I have really strong opinions about political opinions.

It’s a subtle difference, but it’s definitely a sign of the basest sense of maturity. They did learn and they did change. Just not a lot and not toward their obvious polar opposite.

The best critique of South Park and one that’s come the closest to explaining why it rubs me the wrong way is that they always take the side of “not caring”. The end result is always that caring about anything is dumb and “both sides” are bad if either of them actually care.

Cartman was maybe the avatar of social media 10 years ago. Now I just don’t think South Park is as relevant as it used to be.

Superman never works in movies because the writers try to treat Superman like DC Comics WANT people to think Superman is instead of how Superman actually is. The best example of this is All-Star Superman, which is a solidly fun read but a solidly terrible narrative that tells us absolutely nothing about Superman/Clark

She was great in All the Boys Love Mandy Lane and Drive Angry. She just has one type she can play.

I mean... he was successfully sued for robbing his employees, was repeatedly fired from jobs, and had a years-long lawsuit he lost over shoving all of his black workers into a section of the factory called “The Plantation” and refusing to address rampant racial slurs shouted at people and written on bathroom walls.

I posted pictures of Jason Momoa from 2011-2015 dressed exactly like Johnny Depp in 2023 (to which someone snarkily replied that maybe that’s not how he was dressing on set... which... then why would she think he’s dressed like Johnny Depp?).

I don’t know where this energy comes from, but I want more of it.

Fair enough though I would still say the statement that it was getting mixed reviews when most are favorable still seems fairly inaccurate.

Good chance it definitely is how he shows up to set.

Obligatory internet lack of empathy: “Well, it works fine for me. What are your specs?

But now you have smash n grabs in LA at an alarming rate, and they can’t get prosecuted now, or let go the same day, so what’s the point in even having cops? You either make laws that give citizens the right to use force to defend property, or you just let it happen...ah but this was in 2017 so I guess that’s a moot

Heck, I had Sea of Stars, Lies of P, and Starfield and by far the least interesting experience I’ve had has been Starfield while Sea of Stars is one of my favorite games of the last few years.

Jason Momoa:

The first Aquaman made 1.2 billion dollars and you’re leading with, “No one cares about this character?”

Seems like there should be infinite growth with a constantly growing population. There’s more customers to sell to today than there were yesterday.

So what you’re saying is it’s a walking simulator with guns. This sounds a LOT like a walking simulator with guns.

Poorly optimized code cranked out every other year with pre-installed DLC unlocked at the check out screen.

It took 100 years to get an Asian late night host, you think they’re going to allow two of them this quickly?
