My first response was, “Oh, Disney gets to show me they have no idea how racism works again.” Turns out I might have been wrong -- it was just a bad movie.

The movie’s a solid C. No better, no worse. It’s 20% an emotionally resonant, wonderfully acted solo Flash movie with wildly inventive ideas and great visualizations and uses of his powers — and 80% Last Action Hero.

Zootopia had cute bunnies to cover up the fact that it had no idea how racism worked while the Flash is half of a fantastic movie spackled over with parts of ten other scripts that don’t hold together to make another, longer movie.

This almost sounds legitimate. My final rating dropped from a 7/10 to a 6/10 over the span of a few hours of thinking, but I can’t see it going any lower considering how good some of the performances are and the central themes and the actual choreography of the action.

Was Andy Muschietti replaced with an abusive racist dickbag sexist? Then probably not.

The flash isn’t plugged in... and it’s not like his electricity randomly turns on and shortcircuits devices -- oh..

Not only is the character’s full face CGI’d, it literally looks like they ran it through a Corridor Crew style first-pass AI facial rez and slapped it on a cool-looking, super-detailed suit. And sometimes they just slapped that AI face on a body double.

Microsoft has also been loudly shouting that people should get Game Pass on all the platforms, too. Discontinuing a senior system while keeping the games available on some version of PC and future Xbox’s seems like their compromise (especially PC since anything you could run on an Xbone you can probably run on a Steam…

I remember this video and it rung home. There’s no reason to have flashbacks at all, but it feels like something shoehorned in so we could get action sequences faster.

But Superman breaks a bully’s hand out of spite and still murders Zod. You wrote four paragraphs of “these are very good actors” and then dodged the question.

I like playing as characters who have more going against them than class struggle. Peter Parker’s a perfectly great Spider-Man, but Miles Morales is a perfectly great Spider-Man who’s a black Latino who grew up under stop-and-frisk.

You could move Beverly Hills to Wyoming and it would turn blue ovenrnight. And then WYoming would pass a law saying you have to be in residence for six years to vote.
