I’d just like to point out that this person didn’t “go into public with a gun.” They went into public with a gun and used it to murder 50 people and injure 400 more. You’re being intentionally obtuse, and God only knows why.

When are we going to talk about the radicalization and violence of middle-aged white men?
So, terrorism is defined by the intent of the terrorist? I thought it was defined by the effect, i.e. that it inflicts a sense of terror on the population. The more random and willy nilly and unpredictable, the more terrifying.
I want to punch all of the reporters pointing out that he doesn’t “fit the usual profile” not only because of his age but because he is white. Some of them have practically said straight out that it can’t be terrorism because he is white. But of course, most acts of terrorism in this country have been committed by…
Domestic terrorism is defined diffferently under the US Patriotic Act and this is a clear act of domestic terrorism . I don’t think calling an attack that has so far left 50 people dead and injured 400 others terrorism will also cause the word terrorism to lose its value.
The word terrorism has already been coopted to mean whenever a brown person did something bad. By calling white shooters terrorists it combats that coopting.
Just need to point out that, once again, white dude killing dozens of innocent people, but the “Muslim Ban” is what’s going to keep us all safe.
TERRORIST . TERRORISM . Call this act and monster by its name . A 64 white terrorist. How anyone could be this evil is mind boggling.
Whoop. There it is.
I don’t think it’s that easy. A lot of kids raised by abusive parents end up reenacting abuse, for example — especially if they just turned legal, and being sought out by a man with power and money. Hell, a lot of young women who didn’t grow up with abuse still believe that’s romantic, just due to overwhelming social…
And how were they meant to warn any other woman when they signed NDAs or were threatened by a financially secure man and his band of henchmen who told them to keep quiet. This is an absurd attempt at defending indefensible behavior under the guise of Well, They Were Desperate, So...
How is that a flipside? Countless girls and women probably had no idea what they were getting into and eventually high-tailed it out of there. Whatever happened to them in between doesn’t matter? Where the fuck is your empathy? Victims of abuse shouldn’t have agreed to trust their abuser? How were they supposed to…
I think it can be exploitative and abusive like any relationship: it can develop over time and sadly it becomes harder to extricate yourself from it for a variety of reasons.
I appreciate you listening and clarifying. I hope I didn’t sound snippy. I didn’t mean to. I just feel sick thinking of the weird power dynamic that went on between him and these various women. I guess it hits too close to home. I was never a Playboy hopeful or anything, but I have been in the position where I needed…
When there is story after story about abuse, coercion, pressure, and using drugs to obtain control it goes beyond people choosing comfort over principles.
Maybe for him it wasn’t about sex but about the control he had over these women and his enjoyment at their humiliation.
Fuuuuck.
but apparently even helping other human beings is now partisan.
Cars are more expensive in Puerto Rico due to the Jones Act. I lived their, it’s true.
You should ask for your money back.
