This is a welcomed update. Keep in mind, though, that if your IG is linked to your Twitter or Facebook, you will still have to go to those sites to correct how the post appears there.

International Man of Mystery...

I'm not sure how many phones allow you to actually view the password/key but I know most WiFi devices remember it so I'd suggest changing your password after you have allowed anyone to connect to it that you might not want to have access to it whenever they are in range.

I wear Martian watches for the exact same reasons.

Famous last words from Allen Iverson. He, unknowingly, put the nails in his own coffin during that interview. I liked this spin on it, though.

It probably is better. I didn't intend to say it wasn't. Just making note of the differences that come with changing times. People are more concerned with documenting the moment than living in it. Sometimes it's for the better and sometimes it's for worse but it is what it is.

A star is born...

Sign of the times. Where once, people would have panicked in the face of possible death, now they pull out cell phones to instagram near-death experiences.

Honest question: Why do police (in this case, officers, snipers & armed vehicles) aim weapons at people who are threatening to kill themselves. If police are trained to shoot only to kill, what's the point of aiming at a suspect who is only a threat to themselves. Will they shoot you to prevent you from shooting

Karma.

I agree with everything you said. I wasn't saying that gentrification was inherently "bad". I was simply playing devil's advocate. This article and most of the initial comments made me feel as if the issue was being over-simplified in favor of those who can afford to gentrify. I'm all for capitalism but make no

Rents go up. That is true. They go up much more when people with more money decide that they want to live where you live. I'm not against Capitalism. I'm just trying to get people to understand how it plays out for the other side. Renting or owning doesn't matter when Imminent Domain laws kick in. That's what happens

If you can find a property early on in its city's gentrification, you can find a property for 1/3 of its value easily. Very easily. Trust me. I used to work for an agency that did just that on a regular basis. Most people are late to the game and wind up buying or renting from someone who had more foresight than them.

What does the value that your parents or grandparents were assessed for your home have to do with you, today? The WORKING poor (As they are being labeled now) in Gentrified communities/cities in NY/NJ are seeing no profit from the homes they own. They are being bought out for 1/3... probably LESS than the price their

That's because the Jewish CHOSE to move out... Not because they couldn't afford to live in their own homes anymore.

No, but they can pick another city or town that is very close to move to. They have the money to choose. The people who actually live in the cities that are being gentrified have no such choice. They HAVE TO go anywhere... WHEREVER they can afford. It's not the same.

I agree 100%. When an area is colonized, those who are pushed out become immigrants who must find somewhere to migrate to. That is what is happens when gentrification occurs. From my experience, people who are "anti-gentrification" are far from "anti-immigrant". Immigrants very rarely change the landscape of a city in

He's not sleeping. He's posing. It's kind of obvious if you look at his eyes/ facial expression.

Agreed. Pretending to sleep while taking a selfie (or having your picture taken by a third party) with an already sleeping child, pet, significant other, etc. has been around forever and people continue to do it even though it is rediculously easy to tell when it's being done.
