What the heck?

The Quiet Man is more a movie about part of the Irish Diaspora experience - in that those of us who are part of said diaspora tend to view the “motherland” through shamrock colored lenses.

I have two stories for you:

I suspect it’s only Hubris if you can’t move the bridge. (Or maybe it’s only hubritic if he fails, is hubritic a word?) Personally, I suspect he wrote the contract when the boat was going to be smaller, and then he eventually saw some of the other superyachts and figured Go Big or Go Home.

Hubris is relative.

While I’m sure there are better boatyards, this one is what Bezos picked.  No idea why.

My guess is that the masts are going to be crewless and/or heavily automated, which means you’d need a shipyard’s facilities to mount it.  This is no run of the mill sailboat.

Depression is not something that ‘plays fair’. It knows your darkest thoughts, deepest insecurities, and buried fears. It will exaggerate and lie.  You need to use whatever it takes to beat it.

That journal entry was about as dark as fanta black.

I particularly liked the metaphorical kick to the junk of I Drive DFW.

Change via CEO change depends on who you’re talking about. The Dallas Mavericks brought in a new CEO and really cleaned house. Went from an all white men organization in management to one being led by a black woman.
