Mate, heavy exposition and infodump is what fans look for in a Metal Gear game.

You say "overwritten mythology parleyed through heavy exposition and infodumps" like it's a bad thing. I've played every mainline MGS since the first one and have grown to admire the story a lot. But then I also am used to long stretches of exposition in anime as well.
