You probably are already aware of this, but Vaan's status as main character was a decision made during development to appeal to the game's demographic, causing focus to shift from the previously proposed main character Basch to Vaan.

one of the reasons I disliked skyrim... every character is just so generic looking that you forget a lot of them existed.

for the hundredth time this isn't about the characters look or hair. This is about them dumbing down the gameplay, making it easier, and limiting it to 30 fps on the consoles.

It's always been a battle manga though, and was sold in shounen jump so readers knew what they were getting into (while not _every_ story in shounen jump is a battle manga, a large majority of it is).

wanted to give it a fair shot and played it at a friends, but sadly this game is a shell of the complexity and gameplay of the original. I even went back and re-installed dmc 4 on the pc just to make sure I wasn't on nostalgia goggles...

I wonder what his personality is going to be like. American's are more into the gruff bad ass types who speak like they swallowed razor blades, while Japanese seem to prefer their main characters to be more goofy and awkward nice guy.
