If they kept it similar to previous games there really isn’t. There is the base ID of the item which is the actual item itself that contains stats and the model and stuff. This item is just data and doesn’t actually exist in the game world.

More or less the same. If I only use my PC once every few days, there isn’t much point in keeping it on. Would it likely be fine either way? Certainly. That is fairly accurate to say about most of the Nintendo console "gimmicks" (for lack of a better term). You usually only see a few developers do anything really creative with it (and usually it is just Nintendo), and everyone else just does the traditional thing.
