Well I would assume a lot of the mods modify that stuff as well. Heck in Skyrim I change my carry weight from the default 300 to around 100 and don’t let it increase when I up my Stamina. I do it because I dislike the insane amount of stuff I can carry by default. Hell I even restrict myself to a set limit of arrows…

Yeah well only in this time in our lives can a game that portrays gay relationships in an extremely positive light and have people demonize it as homophobic because of a couple of game files that may not function, may be cut content, and have no context about if it is canon.

Sure, if you don’t account for game size and complexity. SMB can be beaten in a couple of hours at most, and super fast if you know the warps. Skyrim takes dozens of hours casually and a few hours if going fast (if you don’t use glitches).

I have not played the game (VNs and Dating Sims are like the opposite of my thing), but I think the Bad Dad thing is supposed to be tongue in cheek. Like “Oh you’re being a naughty boy” teasing kind of thing, not “you did something wrong”.

I would assume that the devs expected people to either figure out the trap and escape or panic and die, so not all of the fire is “real”. But I also haven’t watched the video so I can’t see exactly what happened.

Well it is kind of the same way with Cloud except SE helped that along. In the original game he can be sarcastic or funny or multiple things but in later media they just made him Broody McSadGuy all the time.

I would say you were fine and they were dickish, if anything. It boils down to you saying “Hey, how about Thing X?” and them responding with “I have a negative memory about Thing X that you couldn’t have possibly known about, how dare you mention Thing X, a thing that 90% of people can relate to?”

I have had lots of thoughts of a Metroidvania that works like that. Think Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin, but the characters are in totally different parts of the Castle.
