Well it isn't hard. Its been down for idk how long but Netflix still works. I don't see why that would make a difference though honestly.

Some people buy the DLC only to play with their friends who buy it who are fans. It sucks playing CoD without people you know sometimes and when you want to play with friends without missing a game, you'll need the map pack.
