One of my favorite stories is about the actor who played Kodos. A friend of mine was seeing a Shakespeare play in the park in Canada, when he recognized one of the actors from "somewhere". He went back stage afterwards and accused the actor of being Kodos the Executioner (which he had been) and the two had quite the

Ocean's 8

That second one is called "The Chase", and I always liked that one because it explains why there are so many humanoid species in the galaxy (and even alludes to a comment made by Spock in TOS), but a lot of people really don't like that episode.

What's great about it is how tied to the 60s it is. Definitely a TOS season 3 episode when Gene Roddenberry didn't care anymore.

That reminds me of when I missed the first 3 minutes of "Yesterday's Enterprise" and I couldn't figure out what the heck was going on! *lol*

Yes, I noticed that too. I am actually OK with the Remastered FX as that is probably the only way my kids will every be able to stomach watching TOS.

That might be a good list of episodes: Star Trek Tear-jerkers.

Yes, watching this last year was very interesting. Here is a TV show about the future that was made in the past discussing current events. I guess the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Nice list. I remember every one.

Season 1 of TNG was sort of "meh", but when Measure of a Man aired early in Season II —- wow. That really set the tone for what the series was going in the next few years — where no SF series had gone before.

Agreed. More than any other Trek series (yes, even including TOS) , Enterprise was stopped (at least) 1 year too soon. It is amazing to look back and see that the 4th season almost didn't happen.

"Best of both worlds" as a thriller? How about best cliffhanger in the history of TV. I remember being in grad school and watching this episode (part 1) with a large group (maybe a dozen) friends. When the words "to be continued" flashed on the screen, everybody in the room simultaneously shouted,

Really, I'll have to ask my kids about that one!

That's my only problem with the list. Personally, I find the Qpid episode to be the funniest Trek episode, and should make the list simply for that reason. I mean they included a scene from "Animal House" in a Star Trek episode! How fun is THAT?

Yes, that whole evolution of Dukat is amazing. He's kind of like the "Madonna" of Star Trek. *lol*

*AAAAAAggggrrrrrr* Just kidding. Sorry, no rage. I really liked Tapestry (see above) and the other two episodes can go wherever.

This is another personal favorite of mine (Tapestry). The episode is good, but what really made it better was that my expectations from the preview were so low. I remember seeing the preview the week before this episode first aired and thinking to myself, "Next weeks episode is going to suck". There were so many

Somewhere on the internet a linguist wrote a very long, involved article about the various possibilities of the Tamarian language, — how it might really work how it may have evolved, etc. It's one of those articles that you have to read more than once. I'd put the link here, but I can't find it. *Grrrr*

Yes, one of my top two. I've always found languages interesting (how they evolve and change over time, the derivation of words, etc.), but this episode made me thin of language in an entirely different way. I am sure that a lot of other people might not like it, but it fit me really well.

I really, really liked Inner Light. I might put that at # 1 or 2. A fine piece of work that probably stands better on its own (since it is very much a a "Picard" episode, perhaps more than any other, and the rest of the crew really doesn't play much of a part).
