After watching the trailer half a dozen times, I'm thinking it might be a combination of both...uh somehow.

I can understand the annoyance if your just trying to get to the next town or something but I always liked the random battle encounters. I remember playing the very first Final Fantasy and running up and down the Hall of Giants for hours to level up because every step was a random encounter. To me this is one aspect…

I'm pretty sure this doesn't have a spell book. The spell book was for the ds so you would know what kind of gesture to draw on the screen........uh I assume.

That's because it comes with a giant book you have to use to play the game. I think it's interesting but I KNOW that wouldn't sell very well. This I think has much better chances to catch an audience then the Ds version.

I for one will welcome the return of random battles!!! Hallelujah!!!! I don't like my enemies wandering on my map.
