I’m happy to hear Apollo continues to get solid screen time and development. One of my biggest concerns when they decided to bring Wright back was that he’d completely overshadow Apollo (much like he did in his own game) and would never recieve the proper character development he deserved. But Dual Destinies ended up…
I’m not buying the claims that regular PS4 releases won’t suffer because of this gap. Maybe not immediately or majority but before the life-cycle of the console ends we will have multiple prominent examples.
The PS4 Pro and the Xbox Scorpio both are the latest point in favor of dropping consoles altogether, IMHO. With every generation, the consoles get more and more like PCs, but they’ll never have the key strength of PCs - the openness that allows for modding, a huge indie game scene, fangames, competition in digital…
There goes one of the main strong points of owning consoles... everyone has the same hardware...
A. On the development side.. game/software developers will no longer have that solid conformity off specs for the console they are developing for. Still limited compared to PCs, but not rock bottom identical specs for all…
This is interesting, as I was thinking about whether the PS4 Pro really is powerful enough to basically just “upgrade” games to native 4K without a performance hit, but there are some quotes here that kind of indicate that there could very well be a performance hit. Is it plausible that PS4 Pro 4K “native” games will…
Smash community is absolute garbage... It’s filled with a bunch of whiny, entitled, dickish, college minded... weeaboo, sexist, twat waffles - proof? I not only sponsor the best player in my state, I deal with the largest weekly tourney in my state... Trust me, I hate them... The FGC (NOTORIOUS for being all of the…
More days, more notice for everything would definitely help things, but I honestly feel like you’re not giving the difference between other fighting games in a series due credit.
As was stated on the UltraChen episode, this reflects the different backgrounds of both communities. We in the FGC came from the arcade so we value having everyone treated equally as a competitor. Smash however didn’t come from the arcade and, as such these values aren’t as ingrained in them.
The pro tour is only 3 years old. prior to that there was nothing preventing SF players from going back to Third Strike (commonly considered the most technical game in the series)
This is my ultimate problem with the Smash communities in general, and Melee in particular. Their “god worship” culture seems like poison to the attitude of the game, and the spirit of competition. These players should be seen as your peers. Ones with a much, much higher skill level than average, but you’re all here…
Absolutely. It happens at tournaments for other games, too, but the Melee community is extra-weird about it. In every other fighting game, and I would just go ahead and say the FGC as a whole, top players are seen as peers who happen to have a level of talent higher than most. While there are ones that have especially…
I have to agree. There’s a huge crowd that prefers Street Fighter 4 over 5 because 4 is the harder, more technical game (which is true). Despite this, 5 is currently the choice for major tournaments. 4 is reserved usually for side tournaments. Now, Smash-exclusive tournaments should do whatever they want, but major,…
The competitve scene for video games has ruined gaming as a whole. They basically are the jocks of the gaming world. Seriously fuck esports.
Thats the biggest knock i hear against bebop. Its not a very direct story for that plotline but at least for me Im just as interested in the smaller plots of faye’s past, the episode about the heavy metal queen, and sympathy for the devil that almost any of them stand strong on their own.
I think it’s uncharitable to call it ‘filler.’ Those episodes had meaningful points, whereas filler exists as bland delays to extend a series to otherwise unsustainable lengths. That ‘fridge monster’ was a pretty spectacular(and funny) homage to old films like Alien. More thought was put into that episode than any…
Dennis Miller is one of the saddest cases in terms of comedians. Not because he was self-destructive but because he became painfully unfunny overnight. 9/11 sent him off the rails and he has never recovered. He is the humorless right-wing bore he used to make fun of back in his SNL days.
I have thought about this for a long time. And I have no answer.
I swear the humor gene is connected up with the liberal gene. It really would explain why repubs are so lacking in and suspicious of humor.
