Nathan: I think your reviews are some of the best here when you write them like this— not because I always necessarily agree with them— but because you take them to a very personal place. Good on you, and thanks for sharing.
Were you actually expecting a Nintendo game to come out on PC?
I wish they replaced it with some other game element... if nothing else I dislike that, from a gameplay perspective, there is one less element in the game you can use to build relationship points with characters. I’d rather they at least replace it with, I dunno... a simple cooking mini-game or something. Something…
Less dialog and story in general. Bowser doesn’t even talk. A Mario RPG with a mute Bowser is blasphemy.
He’s a hell of a lot more interested in the community he built than most devs. I’m personally not a fan of the FNAF games myself, but I respect the guy a whole lot.
He’s come up with one hell of a story to surround his games which is always an interesting talking point and pretty much the only thing that really ever…
You said it well enough yourself, fan of the series or not, Cawthon is a very human developer who at least gives a shit.

I think it’s cool for collectors. Even though I don’t understand why they are collecting. I wish more people would embrace digital purchases, it’s changed my gaming life for the better.
That’s almost certainly what was intended by the scene.
I think you misunderstood me.
HOLY CRAP!!!! MY VIDEO MADE IT ON KOTAKU??!!!! WWHHHHAAAATTT???!!!ONFECOPURUGNRPEQGUNQERC THAT’S INSANE!!!!!! HOLY MOLY MOTHER OF LUIGIS!!!!
If you’re suggesting I should care if a bunch of gamers are mad they can’t drug a character and trick them into conversion therapy.... no.
Good. Now to just never read the other comments.
this honestly looks very similar to a small game Lucas Pope (Papers Please) did, called Republica Times, several years ago. I know the developers are crying ignorance, and there are certainly differences enough to distinguish them, but in conjunction with the lookalike graphics, it doesn’t seem so much like an homage…
So much this. It KILLS me that Bethesda barely worked into Fallout 4 some (if any) of the obvious improvements Obsidian made in New Vegas. The companion wheel, for instance, is so much better than the system in Fallout 3, 4, and even Skyrim. It’s one thing for Bethesda to not incorporate things that modders add over…
And most importantly all SPECIAL stats and even skills had a use in dialogues and interactions throughout the game, not just Charisma like in Fallout 4
This is just speculation on my part, but I almost feel like Bethesda seems to be acting a bit... indignant about what are generally considered improvements for New Vegas vs. Fallout 3. Sort of like when someone gets a harsh criticism on their work... like if you get a singer in a chorus who gets yelled at for being…
I find myself wishing that Bethesda had at least learned some lessons from New Vegas very often while playing Fallout 4. The melee and unarmed combat in particular feels like a real step backward from the improvements NV made. New Vegas also did a much better job of weaving the different factions together into a story…
I think people remember just how much better New Vegas was than Fallout 3 (IF you wanted plot / faction heavy instead of just wandering around and could handle Obsidian’s extra bugs) and are hoping for the same thing to happen this time. With luck Fallout 4 is the mindless (but still fun) wandering around with little…
