@Chicken: It is pretty much intact. So I guess they don't want classified hardware to fall in the wrong hands. For example the US Army had a Chinook that crashed in Afghanistan or Iraq and basically while it was repairable, actually doing the repairs was deemed to dangerous so they just blew it up.
