I get where you’re coming from, I was a young adult when Harry Potter exploded into the mainstream, so I can’t say “I grew up with it”. But I did grow up with Star Trek and Star Wars. I think the main cultural difference between how we grew up is Harry Potter was socially accepted fandom to be celebrated. Whereas Star

Colbert’s entire identity isn’t based around LotR though.  I think that’s the difference here.

I feel that’s fine.  It’s such a small thing.  However if you wanted to get a giant back tattoo of the trio’s faces, then maybe you should rethink your life choices.  But the Deathly Hallow tattoos?  I feel those are akin to the Autobot/Decepticon logo tattoos mid-late Gen Xer’s got when they grew up.

Between Twitter, Instagram, and Tiktok, I find it extremely difficult to believe that even the most casual of HP fans who only browse the internet once a month, for an hour wouldn’t have heard about Rowling’s personal opinions on trans people.  This excuse no longer works.

It really feels like someone took “if the lore gets in the way of the story you want to write, ignore it” to heart. And that stupid piece of advice is what separates great writers from people who write fan fiction.

Sure, because it’s still based on her work.  She’d be able to sue for copyright infringement if they didn’t get her approval.

Like I said to someone else, she’s credited because it’s still based on Harry Potter, the IP she created.  They slapped her name on it to make it more legitimate.

Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3 bombed. Amazing Spider-Man 2 bombed pretty hard. Joel Schumacker’s Batman and Robin while having attained cult classic status was considered a flop. So yes, these were big reasons why the franchises were rebooted. I know you’re itching to bring up Nolan’s Batman movies. He was done after 3, he

And the overall sales figures for 4 have never been released.  If it were successful Volition would be making SR5, not rebooting the franchise.  It’s clear they want to wipe the slate clean to start again instead of continuing their trend of upping the absurdity.

Because it’s based on Harry Potter.  She had no actual hand in writing this specific story though.

John Tiffany wrote the stage play.  Jack Thorne wrote the original story.  JK only gave her seal of approval on the finished product.

No, she didn’t.

No, she didn’t. Jack Thorne wrote the Cursed Child. Rowling endorsed it, but she didn’t write the original story.

It was funny for its time.  But it was also the death of the SR franchise because of how far into the absurd it went.  2 had this perfect blend of funny and serious.

Because the first outting with a Rowlingless Potter story was The Cursed Child. Not exactly a good first step.

Oh look the CDPR guys are back out hyperbolizing every aspect their mediocre games. The world is healing.

Did you notice the channel name?  Named specifically for Nebu to bitch about this stuff.  So it’s not even a general channel dump.

They would live as owls?  NO!  They would be owl food, that’s the implication here.

The following post will be inflammatory, I will generalize the gaming community, will contain strong language, and will generally be an all around old man rant.

Toxicity in older games like Quake was the exception, rather than the actual rule. I remember playing online back then and seeing tons of people come in, act like a racist asshole and get booted because none of us wanted to deal with that. I saw that across multiple games. This behavior didn’t become a mainstay until
