They are not. They are Opel Omegas, completely different platform, called the GM V platform, which was initially developed at Opel in the 1960s. This platform, with modifications, was used in Australia until 2007, but never in the US.

This should say:
You guys are just posting insanity now. A flood titled ITALIAN exotic that has an electronic roof! From PA! Right... I don’t see what could go wrong.
You used to be cool Tavarish.
I guess punching a producer doesn’t seem so bad now, does it?
What orlove seriously lacks is the ability to realise that nationalism is NOT racism. The problem is he’s made up his mind and won’t be convinced by logic or facts. Ignorance is bliss I guess. Based on the comments today I’d say he’s also pissed off half of his fan base. I guess he can be proud of himself for all the…
Is it me or at some point this year did the “I don’t agree with you so you MUST be a racist bigoted ——-” people turn into a caricatures of themselves. Where once we had a modest concern for their accusations now it’s just a hallmark of a logically flawed factually indefensible opinion from another completely…
Agreed. Way too much liberal hand wringing about Brexit in today’s Jalop posts.
Hot Take: American Liberals think country should belong to European Union.
Yeah, I generally enjoy Jalopnik and Raphael’s writing, but this tired-ass trope about the Brexit being all about racism is getting really fucking old. It’s lazy, sensationalist, and demeaning all in one neat bundle. I come to Jalopnik to read about cars, not to hear a tired straw man argument about international…
...the thing where old scared racist people in the UK want to keep brown people out of their country and think that ditching the shitshow that is the EU is going to help them with that.
One entry per post means I can post two entries with two posts?
And with that please give a warm Jalopnik welcome to our new staff writer, Kristen Lee. She comes to us from a small regional print newsletter called Road & Track and DDs a car as powerful as approximately 15 Baja Bugs. She’ll do great around here.
Anyone who has been away from their car for a while knows the joy of being reunited with it. The familiarity hits on…
I see no reason for a recall unless the shifter itself or any part it is connected to fails. The instructions are dead simple and anyone who does not read their owner’s manual to learn how to use their vehicle is an idiot regardless of a change in design.
What is that a 60" wheelbase in the sketch? Overhang for days.
Seriously, normally I enjoy Letters to Doug but this one is just so half-assed (probably closer to quarter-assed). A ~2003 S600 with recent service can be had for <$10k all day long and reliability is not THAT bad (for being an almost 15 year old German luxury car). Hell, throw another $10k at it and you’ll have a…
The R129 is a favorite of mine. I get the itch every once in a while when a 5-speed 300SL R129 pops up for sale. The V12 of the 600 isn’t, for me, enough to offset the slushbox over the manual.
Didn’t see this until just now or I would have posted sooner. A while back, I imported and owned one of these for 5 years (a ‘95 M5 Touring) . Sold it in 2008 for $35K with 51,000 miles due to pending divorce. There are probably 20 to 35 of these in the USA out of 891 total production. If anyone has any questions…
Tell me do you think it'd be all right
I tried to tell the difference in the engine note when I was in tour, sport, and track, and I couldn't really pick up on any changes. It must be really subtle. Or maybe I'm going deaf? Or perhaps I'm going blind? Maybe I'm out of my mind?
