I can't stop thinking about this comic since it was in Sunday Comics.

Having recently made the same jump I would agree; the only current downside is the lack of games/apps.

Wow. The graphics are like, 10 percent better. It's a good thing we have this new generation of consoles!

Yeah, I guess releasing next-gen hardware on time with extreme competitive constraints, then dedicating resources to continually improve it within the first three months is a "failure."

Even though the PS4 is missing about 60% of the features that PS3 had for years beforehand?

Not even Tiny Tina's? Because you really should finish that one.

Oh my god, I love everyone in this thread! Finally, the voices of ACTUAL REAL PEOPLE are heard instead of the ZOMBIE WIN8 SUCKS internet wave.

Win8 (and 8.1) is better Win7. And Win7 rocked.

I agree with this 100%. At first it felt slower, but after a couple days, it was clear navigating in Windows 8 is much faster.

My point is it doesn't do it any worse. So may as well go for the version that has better recorded boot up/shut down times and has access to more features (all the things on the app store). Plus (and this maybe is just me) I think the W8 start menu is a bit easier to organize and access overall than things were on the

Yeah, I launch most of my programs from the pinned task bar icons (like I did in W7). Secondary programs are all on the first page of the start menu. Anything else I hit "start" then type the first 3 or 4 characters of the program and then press enter and it launches.

and, once you learn it, the start screen can make your interaction with the computer faster. I spend way less time "launching" than I ever did in windows 7.

Just for arguments sake. You know you can resize buttons right (and at small size they are fairly small, no larger than desktop icons)? Also most every screen now is widescreen so it seems to make more sense to have things layout in a more horizontal manner, and it's not like scrolling up or down on your scrollwheel

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet 2 with full windows 8.1 and I'll say that in a tablet environment the Metro UI is pretty great.

I mean really. Windows 8 is just Windows 7 with more features (and better boot times). That's it. 99% of my time is spent in regular desktop mode, except I can also play some of the games that are exclusive to the app store (like Spartan Assault and Project Spark).

You know, I've really been leaning towards the Playstation 4, but the amount of idiocy and juvenile jackassery that goes on around here makes me want to buy the Xbone instead out of spite. ESPECIALLY if it's a sign of the maturity level of Playstation users I'll be encountering online.

I was never particularly interested in a Windows 8 touch laptop and never thought it would be useful. Then I got a touch laptop and it's pretty awesome. It can be pretty useful for quickly navigating around. I'm always tempted to use my finger on older laptops now to quickly minimize a window or scroll a webpage with

my start screen is not cluttered at all
