I think it’s a great idea, too. People who are upset about it are mostly just dealing with oppositional defiant impulses because they’re interpreting it as a “since you can’t be trusted to play things you buy, let’s do an event that MAKES you play them you irresponsible lout” sort of thing.

I may not want to finish all the games in my catalog— heck, I may not even want to play some of them after the first time (or at all), but I am satisfied with every purchase I make these days because I make them based on ideas and games that I want to support.

It would be a fun thing to do and doesn’t have to be about games you never played, just things that’ve been gathering dust in your catalog; it’s your choice if you prefer to interpret it the way you do.

This would be a fantastic public relations campaign that could build good will (super important for very public-facing services) as well as generate revenue through earned incentives (unlockable coupons, DLC-only sales, and other perks earned by engaging with things you already own).

Ace of Diamond is running right now and that’s pretty good. Frankly, though, every baseball anime is worth watching (especially anything based on an Adachi manga).

I believe Geralt is also fairly old at this point— somewhere in the vicinity of a century or so. He’s still younger than Yennefer or Triss, but they aren’t that far off from being in the same age cohort.

Blood does very bad things to steel. One of the reasons swordsmiths were so successful up until the Meiji era.

Complete agreement. Easily my favorite gun in lots of WW2 games, particularly Day of Defeat. Rather than its limitations detracting from the experience, they force you to think about your strategy while its overall dependability still makes it good in abrupt, uncontrolled situations.

Maybe it counts the paint that’s in the air splattering off your characters as they move around? I bet TheeIncubusHD won the game for his team because he was in mid-flight with a paint-trail wafting through the air behind him.

I don’t know whether this is a “Best” list or a “Worst” list or if the list itself even knows.

Johnny Storm is a white dude in the comics, but there’s nothing about the character that doesn’t work if he isn’t a white dude. He could be Korean/African/Iranian/Cherokee and the character wouldn’t have to change a bit.

It’s not like samurai didn’t have myriad other responsibilities. They usually had duties outside of training that they had to take care of either for their daimyo or to administrate their own property. Additionally, samurai were expected to be well educated in a number of different areas such as art, poetry, history,

Don’t the newer hot pockets crisping sleeves offer alternative eating instructions along with special perforations to turn the sleeve into an ever-shorter hot-pocket holder?

I was much more impressed when I watched the video than I was beforehand. You’re not quite understanding the scale of what he’s doing in that video if you don’t watch it unfold yourself.

Wow, loving the multiple layers of puns in the title, even if it makes me a little sick when I hit that special layer.

I like the way the speed-run community has all this covered. Those of us outside the community who don’t have a good grasp of the granularity of the various categories might not fully appreciate it, but the community has all their hedges in a row.

This is great! I hope you guys consider doing a series of articles on educational games and games targeted for younger age groups. It would be really helpful for parents and educators who are looking for cool ways to get kids learning AND playing.

“reining in”

That last clip really needed to fade to black via the body of the pink-clad motorcyclist falling from the sky onto the camera.

Crappy audio and bad localizations turned “winner” into “weiner.” More than a few had the problem. I think DoA2 had “You’re a weiner” in the Dreamcast version.
