Now for someone to do a little digging and find out the average angle measure of the arcs found throughout the game. I bet it's actually more consistent than Watts thinks it is.

You'll be thankful she wears her ring askew when she pulls her hand back out of your chest and doesn't get it caught on your rib cage...

While reading this I was struck with the realization that the weight of responsibility Valve bears in its customer service record on BBB is not at all equal to that of every other organization the BBB grades.

Makeup is scary!

Not if this is emergent rather than programmed behavior.

It definitely seems like the lady doth protest too much.

Not saying it's the ONLY confirmation, just saying it's all you need. :P

Also all the confirmation anyone needs that Penguin's making another appearance.

Cats are pretty ideal for body juggling.

You could do that!

I saw the Source 2 news on RPS, and then when I read this it occurred to me that I hadn't seen any news about Source 2 or the fact that they were both going to be offered free(ish). Trust me, this comment wasn't even my primary reaction to this article— I nostalgia'd out on the video for more time than I should have.

I don't have strong feelings, just enough surprise that there wasn't already an article on the subject to briefly comment on it. And I don't think this is a "mostly unrelated" story at all, since it is the story that informed me that Unreal Engine 4 was going to be free.

Those kind of mats obviously don't offer as much cushion as some do, though. It's not too bad even on top of a hard gym floor.

Yeah, he clearly didn't tell her he was planning to pretend to get hurt. She's definitely experiencing that awful moment of fear that your practice throw actually hurt your partner.

His landing posture is actually decent (he slaps the mat before he hits, his legs are in the right places)— it isn't nearly as bad as he's pretending.

My comment isn't about this story, it's about the absence of a related story that I expected to see coverage for. The lack of such a story seemed notable, so I commented on it on the basis that it sounded like something Kotaku would cover— if not as a broader piece about the impact on the gaming industry, then at

The Unreal Engine 4 news is mentioned, briefly and in passing, in this article. Valve's news is similarly missing or mentioned in as understated a way as possible. One major engine going free(ish) for developers is one thing, but two? At the same time?

Art doesn't necessarily mean entertainment, and you can't really judge how entertaining something is without actually trying it; the best thing you can do is hold your skepticism tightly until you have a more advantageous perspective from which to judge.

A lot of clips in this one required backtracking just for me to figure out what the hell was going on. This led me to the happy realization that Battlefield 4 actually seems to model parabolic bullet trajectories!
