At the very least, traditional dealers need to recognize that when they sell EVs, they are competing with the Teslas, Rivians, Lucids and Polestars of the world that don’t have sleazy dealers and crazy mark-ups.

Yes.

As electric cars require much less maintenance why is there a need for dealers? Why is the direct to consumer model (AKA Tesla) not viable? Is this government, lobbyists and big money trying to save the buggy and whip? Or is there more to this?

Great article, but what are the two small rectangles on the bumper? Are those license plate lights?

All of them. And pretty much all of cable TV for that matter. I ditched cable years ago. Anytime I see it when on vacation either the material has gotten even dumber or I simply used to be OK watching dumb TV.

I’ll probably get roasted, but I never cared for American Top Gear. Some bits here and there were funny/entertaining, but overall, it wasn’t good. Not sure I’d call it the worst though.

I always thought the Challenger was the best looking of the three Pony cars

Thank You for the support dolsh! You are Awesome! People in general should be kind. It is not a perfect world but everyone has a chance to be nice.

Yeah.. how dare these people for disagreeing with an opinion on the internet.

Do agree, love me a volvo wagon. They are too expensive and rare for me to own one here in Michigan. I bought my ‘19 Golf Alltrack for $22.5k brand new (and then sold it to carvana for 30.5k after two years).

You could expand this just to wagons in general! The volvo is great, the MB, former VW, etc are all great. I switched from a hatchback to an alltrack wagon about a year and a half ago and never look back. With my thule box on, it has just about as much dry storage as my full sized truck with a tonneau and gets 33mpg

oooooo baby

Wheels (and the tires that are attached to them).

That’s fuckin’ awesome. Never saw that before. Thanks for posting.

Aerodynamic demands is a MASSIVE part of them starting to trend similar looks.

I grew up in the 80s and 90s where a “super car” was either a Ferrari and Lamborghini with a distinct shape from the other “boxy” or “oval soap” shaped cars I know that “sports cars” have that coke bottle shape however is it me or are they all starting to look the same? I think if you badge-d this noble with a Lotus

Problem is production volume. The facility manufacturing these cars have to build so many to overcome the fixed costs. Partnering with another firm to build either platform identical or rebadged vehicles will increase the volume and amortize the fixed costs sooner. Ever notice that some volume manufacturers threaten
