I think for a certain demographic I believe it is a beloved movie. This is the one where in the prelude/pre-movie Brian gets the 3000GT and the GTR. I also think for the younger generation this was their “first” F&F movie. Hence the whole “ejecto seato cuz” memes.

2 Fast 2 Furious. The bridge scene was pretty cool and for the most part all that I remember about the film, other than that to me this was the movie when they started getting away from the tuner scene and just more about the heist. Makes sense to me. BMW and Mercedes realized this in some way too. They are transitioning from hard top convertibles back to fabric soft tops for the same reason, to reduce weight.
