It is different than a dock, because it doesnt actually "dock". Nothing is plugging into my phone. And when all the lights are off in my room, this a big deal. I think built in wireless charging is a HUGE gamechanger of a feature. Apple needs to get onboard with this now, not when it becomes "old news" technology. True, it definitely depends on the application. Mainly used the GoPro with chest mount while wakeboarding, where this would not work unless I had it side mounted on a helmet.

I dunno about how the lenses is positioned on this. Very different than the GoPro style (front facing vs side). I think the GoPro will apply better for the majority of situations you would be using this in.
