2017 was the year I looked back at a lifetime of being defined as an “Oreo” by people and finally realized a lot of the white people who I used to hang out with and even be best friends with were kind of trash.

I’d respect McNair more if he just say “All these uppity niggers are fucking with our money and we need to stop this uprising right now!”. At least that would be honest.

Or maybe she couldn’t afford daycare and that was the easiest option for her. The interviewers most likely would have judged her had she bought her children to the interview and said you should have planned for childcare. Patriotism is really just a performative aspect of nationalism, and nationalism is inherently majoritarian. In the US, that “majority”(in quotes because it doesn’t need to be an actual majority in numbers) has always been white and within certain boundaries.
