I admit I saw this on HBO back in 1985 or 86. Beautiful artwork but something seemed off. Finally saw the original in 93 or 94 at one the first Anime cons I went to. It was then I realized how messed up the one I originally saw was. It doubled down my requirement to avoid dubs at all costs.

The attraction to Saekano, besides Utaha’s legs, is that everyone is painfully aware of all the harem tropes and then hang lampshades on them. Calling out BS plot twists as they happen.

Because it’s only half of it’s season. And if you watched the first season 5 years ago you should realize that the show takes a long while to set up all the pawns before things get interesting. This 1/2 season ended just as things start to unfold.
