The 5 starts at about 20k, the Golf van starts about where? The plain Golf starts at 18k, assumin the Golf Van stays the same, thats only a difference of $2000. Not really significant (10%) to me. Especially when you start to consider things like depreciation, where in 3 years the Mazda will still be worth something.
