Maybe don’t call him Bat-Dick, yeah?

Right? Like it’s a even a real debate.

We all know where this is going, best to get it out of the way now:

That and people who whip out their phone and start recording instead of helping. Yeah, you might get hit in the process yourself, but at least you’re not just standing there like a bump on a log while someone is being attacked.

The FBI currently has human rights observers embedded in local police forces across the country. They are the only law enforcement agency that routinely investigates and punishes violent, white supremacist groups. They’re currently the only law enforcement agency that is investigating and might bring charges against

The FBI is the enforcement arm of the executive and legislative branches, if you got a problem with surveillance states and FISA courts and all that, take it up with Congress and the President. The FBI aren’t the jack booted thugs shouting “whose streets, our streets” as they arrest protesters.

Completely agree. Rather than laud what sounds like a pretty modern approach to an issue that most people are completely ignorant of, this article comes across like The Orville is regressing our understandings of gender when it will likely in fact get torched by the right for being too squishy on the subject.

Honestly its responses like this why so many shows stay away from stuff like this. Its ALWAYS a damned if you do damned if you don’t scenario for these shows, especially Network shows that have to appeal to a MUCH broader audience then New York or LA based entertainment writers.

Exactly. Beth should remember that while she might be well-versed on gender and trans issues, the average Fox viewer isn’t, and thus the show can speak to them as it would speak to her.  It is fine to point out where the episode could be improved, but this article just dismiss the whole thing as regressive crap

Frankly, I was surprised that it worked at times, especially given the lack of research into the issue of gender identity.

“300 years after man declared God dead,”
Speculate on what the hell happened in 2007 below!

Nothing like just saying things instead of making an actual argument. WHY do you believe piracy to be wrong? What moral precepts support this assertion? At least pirates who “rationalize” their actions are making an argument - the moralizing side you belong to consistently refuses to back up their vague “feeling” that

“These things are not equivalent. Piracy can still be a major problem, even in the absence of a measurable impact on the sales of media. For example, the entirely false perception of rampant piracy can have adverse effects on the likelihood of individuals to offer works to the marketplace in the first instance.”

*does it anyway*

A couple of studies, including this one, show that most people who are pirating games/movies/music are unable or unwilling to pay for it themselves. The rest are generally cases where it’s become so much of a hassle to obtain it legally that it’s easier to pirate.

Having a Starfleet Admiral that’s not insane or a traitor would be a fresh new direction for this show.

I would kill for a post-Nemesis show. I know that Star Trek Online game apparently has an interesting post-Nemesis exploration maybe 20 years after, but man, I want to see a full on 50+ year pick up, with refugee crisis, Starfleet dealing with its Insane Admiral problem, the Romulan destruction fallout, Borg

I had a communications professor in college who wrote a similar paper, though not as well funded, obviously. He found that piracy wasn’t a major factor in revenue lost, just as this report did. But he found something a little more interesting. While not necessarily game-changing, there was a sense of people wanting to

That’s been my rationale since the days of Kazaa and Limewire.

But the RIAA and MPAA have assured me that every year they lose $100 trillion in profits due to piracy!
