I dont have a digital picture of it available, but the one bellow was identical in every way to the first car I bought myself. It was a 1997 Mercury Mountaineer, 5.0 V8, column shift auto,AWD and I paid for it myself. It was a joy to drive and with the V8 and AWD made it get off the line in a hurry! It also ment…
Any Early 8o's Country squire wagon, hell any country squire after 55' will do. starting in 55' They were based on the Fairlane and Galaxie platforms moved on to the LTD's in the 70's and the Crown vic panther platform in the 80's. all huge cars with HUGE room, Im pretty sure with the seats folded down you could fit…
Lincoln has two Excellent choices for where it could go for a mid size sedan. First and most obvious is the falcon platform. Give that the styling of the MKZ with some proper suicide doors and a Coyote V8 and you have a glorified hit that would not only rival its competition at GM and Cadillac , but at Mercedes ,BMW…
I think "Used to" is an important to note here. I can think of only 3 or 4 vehicles in the market today that can mach more than a couple of these requirements and even then its a stretch...
I think even more important than a winch is someone to go 4 wheeling with. With a tow strap and proper tow points a buddy can get you out as good as a winch. Thats something that I like to stress to all the new guys I talk too. Not only is it handy having someone on the trail with you, it is also good for safety in…
Good article! These are the main points to hit, my Jeep hits all of them except the lockers, Those will come with new axles. One thing I would like to add is regardless of how unstoppable your vehicle is the most important thing to have with you on the trail is someone else, specifically another rig. Its important for…
I dont think there is a limit to what cars cant be modified, But how you modify them. Even a Ferrari F40 can be improved upon, but its a matter of how you do it. On certain cars that are rare, high dollar, and historic the things that can be done to the car should be limited. If the modifications to the car are done…
I was able to learn most of this in college, But most of my practical experience is on the 4.0l as well. It is a fun motor to work on if I say so myself.
Free valve actuation.. with computer control and individual valve actuation the possibilities are incredible for economy, power, size... I cant do the technology justice in explanation but Christian Von Koenigsegg explained it very well on the Inside Koenigsegg segment on Drive.
I Never got it either! Nothing what he does makes any sense. First an RTI ramp is ment to test articulation not balance, he goes WAY to far with it. Second Why would you get out never mind tilt the car... with passengers... with one tire 3 ft off the ground is beyond me!
Hummer RTI ramp fail..... Every time I do the RTI ramp with my jeep this is the ony thing I can think of, But then I remember I am in a Cherokee and it actually flexes!
Well in my personal case, I will take my 22k, invest 6k in a decent low milage 99' cherokee. Use approximately 10-12k on upgrades and alterations including:
-One ton axle swap w/ driveline upgrades
-Long arm 4.5" suspension
-Mild roll cage
- Tires/ wheels
-Bumpers/chassis stiffeners
-Any other necessary alteration to…
The profile shape shouts the new dart, the front is a weird Kia/Prius mix and I bet its about as entertaining to drive as a mail truck, No thanks, Ill shoot for the Focus instead.
Who could blame them thats one ... Bitchin' Camero
Its really not that bad to get there... I live in the Foxboro area, but I dont know if its there any more but if it is the adress is below. Be warned though, the guy that used to run the place was nuts and if you want to go in with permission you will need 4wd.
Wish I saw this yesterday, There is ( or was its been a while) a graveyard in RI that made the rounds in 2008 that is just full of old muscle cars and classics. I went twice, Once guided by the owner who was shitfaced at 8:30AM and once me and a friend sneaked in the back and spent a couple hours roaming through. We…
Basically if you go too google maps and zoom in on any port between Polyarny and Severodvinsk you will see any number of Submarines, Naval ships and Civilian vessels just piled u[ on top of each other. I would love to spend a summer road tripping the coast up there.
