If you read the actual employment documents (one of the first articles about this has a Scribd link) you will see that the contract categorizes them as employees rather than independent contractors.

You can call a job a hobby all day and night, but it will not make it one.

Oh no, someone call the newspapers - there is someone working a job that wants to do something else with their lives beside that job. This has never, ever, ever happened in the entire history of the world! Obviously, that means these people should not be paid for the job they actually performed.

"Access to wealthy men" is a gross thing to bring up, especially since fraternization is verboten. I have a job I love, have fun at, and my customer base is surgeons.
