You are most definitely not overreacting. It's common courtesy in social settings to not show up without an RSVP (and certainly not after one cancels in the first place).

Shop. Get a manicure. Take a long walk. Take my camera out and photograph weird/interesting/beautiful stuff. Try a new food place that's not sit down, but rather grab-and-go (tea shop, ice cream place, bakery). Draw. Color (yep, like a coloring book!). Go for a bike ride. Visit the cats at Petco. My husband started a…
Ugh. That dude sounds like an annoying hypocrite. A new member to your group might have the excuse of not understanding its etiquette, but this person should know better than anyone what's expected. I'm thinking his lack of courtesy was because he thinks he's above the rules for some reason.
Favorite things to do by yourself besides reading/catching up on tv? I'm off the next two days, all my friends are working, and I'm going crazy!
Mine are Buffy, Dr Who, Buffy, Firefly, Harry Potter, Buffy, Veronica Mars, Buffy and Buffy. Plus a bunch of others where I stick my toes in the water on occasion.
Comics in general (I love Marvel, DC, and everyone else), Doctor Who (although I have only watched the new seasons, but plan on watching the old ones), Firefly and Star Wars.
I think I'm much more of a "fangirl" in the traditional sense (like, girls who are obsessive fans over celebrities.....um, yeah). Like, the level I geek out over Japanese and Korean idols is pretty geeky, imo. Out of all the fandoms I've ever been part of, I probably have loved Hello! Project the most. So I guess I'd…
OMG. You forgot my favorite, Tyra. How could we skip past this gem of a show:
I just got sucked back into X-Files... now I'm trying to get someone to import the season 10 comics for me.
Going through tumblr? What newfangled balderdash is this?
The million-dollar questions - why are these 'fandoms' generally exclusively/majority women? The only ones that I think of as being generally co-ed or skewed male are Star Wars and Star Trek, MAYBE Dr. Who.
Or is that even a thing? Is it actually a function of how we define a 'fandom' versus simply a thing that is…
X-Files! Stargate! Andromeda! HP!
* sigh * I feel old. All my fandoms have one (or both) feet in the graveyard. I think I am going to go watch some My Little Pony...
Proud Fannibal here! I'm in it mostly for the hot guys (Mads Mikkelsen, Hugh Dancy).
A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones and Marvel MCU are my two primary ones right now.
Doctor Who and Blake's 7!
I'm sort of a fandom lurker, I read fanfics and watch the shows/ read the books and actively convert people in my life but I wish I had more fandom friends. Doctor Who, Sherlock, Game of Thrones, Lord Of The Rings, Star Trek.
Needs more anime. And Teen Wolf. And a couple of Homestuck trolls.
God bless fangirls!
Star Trek (TOS/TNG/reboot), recently Sherlocked, Buffy, Old Who/some nu-Who, Marvel movieverse (esp. Thor/Avengers). Was Hiddlestoner, since converted to Cumberbitch.
SO TRUE. There is so much amazing comedy out there, and you mean to tell me that you're wasting your time on some lowbrow idiot like Daniel Tosh?
