Curious how you make no mention of the victim or having empathy for what she’s going thru.

I do want to note that 95% of the Rick and Morty subreddit, even when they thought it would be cancelled, are 100% “eff that guy burn it down, kill your heroes”. It’s REALLY nice to see from what was allegedly a really toxic subreddit and fanbase. They’re outing all the inside jokes that were too on the nose and super…
Just remind them that “one felony count of domestic battery with corporal injury and one felony count of false imprisonment by menace, violence, fraud and/or deceit;” isn’t a mistake.
Yeah, I’m kind of surprised that those twitter DMs aren’t getting more attention in these articles. Even if the DV case doesn’t result in a conviction, he’s absolutely done enough sketchy shit to get him fired.
I’ve seen a handful of R&M fanboys lose their minds over Roiland getting fired over “one mistake”. Last week, when news of Roiland’s arrest from a couple years ago began trending, several women came forward with text messages and DMs they received from Roiland 7 or 8 years ago, and Roiland was writing some truly vile,…
Good news. Adult Swim isn’t a court of law. They’re a private company that didn’t want to be associated with a creep. I’m sure they know a lot more about the charges than you.
The same people who think that getting fired is a “trial” are the ones who say they’re being “silenced” or “censored” when someone disagrees with them. I can’t imagine how boring their lives actually are that they feel like they have to manifest high drama like that.
I mean, maybe if Roiland had actually listened to his Poopybutthole, he might not have doubled-down on being a creep. Ooo-wee.
Roiland starts appearing regularly at Turning Point USA and other conservative events talking about how cancel culture and the woke warriors destroyed his livelihood.
Can we get Christopher Lloyd and Michael J Fox to do the voices?
“Marty! I mean, uh, Morty!”
“Yeah Doc... Granpa. Doctor Granpa?”
“It’s your parents Morty! They’re assholes!”
And now the R&M fandom will surely demonstrate the kind of mature and intelligent behavior they’re well known for and won’t totally overreact to a fairly reasonable compromise given the difficult position the network was in.
But how will anyone capture the subtle emotions he instilled in Mr. Poopybutthole??
This is going to breathe new life into the show. Their weird meta-tension was getting old as they aired it out in the series. One was always trying to be clever, and the other was always trying to be dumb. Solar Opposites is proof who wants to tell hilarious stories, and who thinks that making highly specific…
Ha, I just replied to another comment that I don’t think any given writer is the secret sauce, and here you’ve gone and upstaged me by adding a mildly amusing reference to the phrase :P
Community was such a great character-based show that I kind of always assumed that some of the rare empathic moments of R & M came from Harmon. I kind of vaguely wonder if this’ll suddenly turn into the sort of show that I vastly prefer but that the vocal core audience will turn their back on.
Well, I mean he pled guilty....
“Oh no! Without Justin, who will voice both Rick & Morty?!”
It’s not just the domestic violence charge. It’s gotten a little less press, but there’s also some pretty horrifying text conversations with a handful of minors that have come out that are pretty damning.
The cynic in me never ceases to be amazed when the right thing is done.
Honestly, I feel like Dan Harmon was always the secret (szechuan) sauce for what made the show great, so this is probably the best choice considering the circumstances.
