The amount of commentary regarding the art or artists that the Wachowskis referenced/plagiarized/were inspired by in creating The Matrix is a hundred times longer than this entire article. It’s Grant Morrison, it’s John Woo, it’s Shirow Masamune, it’s William Gibson, it’s the Shaw Brothers, it’s Lewis Carroll, it’s

Oh, right! The Angels communicated through one of the soldiers during their first run-in with Eleven, if I’m not mistaken.

Hopefully when they are stuck in the past Yaz doesn’t have to pretend to be Dan’s maid like Martha had to do when Ten was hiding from the Family of Blood

Yaz and Dan and the professor and little Peggy stranded in 1909 might be a better spinoff than Class was (though I did love Quill, but it needed more of her)

I doubt that simply because the Doctor was already found at that portal as a young child and not an abandoned baby.

We call it “Mumble-Vision” over here in the UK. It’s common to all TV. We have ad breaks that are so loud that your ears spontaneously combust but as soon as the programme itself starts, everyone sounds like they’re delivering their lines through a fecking comb with a piece of tracing paper draped over it, while 16

Tying the Angels to the Division is a little annoying but other than that the episode did not significantly decrease the threat/impact of the Angels which, in itself, makes it a lot better than most post-‘Blink’ Angel episodes.

Once I saw that after-credits scene at the end of the episode, I finally got what they were after. Marvel’s television shows are starting to have an effect on storytelling beyond Disney+.

About time we got to see the Angels truly used strongly; tying them in to the Division strikes me as potentially risky (is this a further repudiation of the High Council?) but the visual of Thirteen becoming an Angel and the closing sequence was truly messed-up. And we even got a good stinger!

It continues to upset me just how good this season of Doctor Who is. Not because I want Chibnall or Whittaker to fail, mind, but because we don’t have a TARDIS to send the pair back to do this well from the start of their run. This is the most I’ve been invested in Doctor Who since the Twelfth Doctor’s run and I am so

But at least Germains are allowed to review it!

Well, they’re actually scarier in my kitchen.

I recall seeing an interview with HR Giger where he complained that the Alien sequels evolved the xenomorph designs to look increasingly like shit. That’s not a metaphor either, he meant like literal shit. I’m not sure it’s entirely accurate, but I can see his point (the hybrid in Resurrection... oof).

It’s rather unfortunate that the first black female Doctor will likely end up with less screen time and fewer stories than any other Doctor, maybe not even a regeneration.

I like what I have seen of the Fugitive Doctor, so far. I do think, however, that it’s a bit unfair to pigeon-hole her as an alternate version of the War Doctor. We have yet to see her in her own context, only within the context of Thirteenth Doctor. I would love to see what she is like when she’s fully in the

Thirteen’s coat being reversible really paid off in that whole bit; at first I wondered when she picked up the blue duster, which led to me realizing this was a memory and then to me exclaiming OH! just before the meeting in the mirror. Really fun, and last night’s episode might be in the conversation for best

Rather than her “fugitive” years, I thought this might be the Doctor’s time in that secret org that we saw last season - what was it, “The Division”? “Psi Corps”? “Bureau 13"?

Clearly The Swarm is The Master, Azure is The Rani, and Passenger is Susan. 🤣

Seriously? There are some Aboriginal people who would argue about ALL Indigenous people being eradicated from Tasmania (BTW Aboriginal and Indigenous mean the same thing).
