Thank you for being open and listening! Your original point is a good one, it will be better now without the (inadvertent) ableism.

Abuse of power, corruption, and structural racism has nothing to do with mental health. Or rather, people with mental illness are often victims of abuses of power, and structural racism sabotages the mental health of POC, especially black people.
“It seems to me this is the very group of people who invented “autism” as a way to put their mundane social and personal awkwardness into a protected category of tiresome behavior.”
None of those things are mental illnesses. Mentally ill people are far more likely to be victims of violence than perpetrators.
It absolutely is.
Mine are pretty big, and as such I like to wear a tight band size for support. Doing it up in front then rotating around just sounds impractical.
No problem! Sorry it embedded weirdly, I had just meant to link it.
That’s not harsh, that’s pretty reasonable.
“For children with autism, intensive behavioral programs, known broadly as ABA (“applied behavior analysis”), are most often the recommended approach”
As someone said earlier up in the thread, the word ‘aborigine’ is a no-go:
Quick tip: the word Aborigine has pretty bad connotations, it’s not a good idea to use it.
Internal sex organs are not binary either, and can occur in ways that appear incongruous with each other. We need to improve our medical systems, not be telling trans and intersex people how they should react in medical settings.
Trans women still need to get checked for prostate cancer, that shit doesn’t just go away.
Yep, biphobia sure does suck!
Given that none of the physical traits we associate with the categories we call biological sex (e.g. gonads, genital shape, chromosomes, hormone balance) are binary, and can often occur naturally in ways we consider incongruous with each other, maybe doctors should update their practices to reflect reality, rather…
Scientifically speaking, biological sex is a gross simplification of the reality of human variation in which the connotations you are speaking of aren't always accurate, so the point stands.
Then they should be asking if someone has ovaries and a uterus. It's that simple, no need to exclude trans and nb people
My apologies, I misread your initial message. You’re absolutely right.
Being a shit person isn’t a mental health issue. There are plenty of wonderful people out there with mental health issues.
