We’re certainly in an era of society normalising and even celebrating harmful backseat diagnosing by laypeople.
Trans people are born with their gender as well, it’s just that the sex they were assigned at birth is incorrect.
Sex is still a social construct, so separating sex and gender isn’t necessarily as useful as it seems at first.
