“Hey, lets treat someone who knows nothing about this problem like an ignorant prick.”

Well, given that (if we’re talking about the same movie) there is a giant mechanical spider, which also would have been... unlikely at the time, I don’t think that realism was what the filmmakers were going for. And that’s fine.

“Let’s look at the long list of strikes against him?

* Has that mental disorder which means physical dexterity is an issue.”

It's a very solipsistic life view to assume that because you haven't personally seen something it doesn't exist.

“What would you call what the updated “Wild, Wild West” did?:”

“People complain a lot about Hollywood white-washing movies and characters. I have the same complaint in reverse”

Murray Gold did a fantastic job, but after ten years I am ready for a change and am loving the new direction.

Yep, I’m Australian and when I first got the chance to try them at a lolly shop that stocks international sweets I was expecting them to be really good.

Ableism against a bad person is still ableism.

“Why is this one any more believable than anything else she’s said?”
Because believing you’re qualified to judge someone’s health if you’re not their Doctor is crappy and inaccurate? This isn’t an isolated thing, the skepticism and invalidation is something that happens to disabled and chronically ill people every

But it does tie in to abled people feeling like they are qualified to armchair judge someone else’s health needs. This is a widespread thing that happens all the time. They’re not, and you’re not.

Not every wheelchair user needs one all the time. This woman is shitty but there’s no need to contribute to an already pervasive trend of disabled people being accused of fakery by abled people who don't know their circumstances.

“I have been listening my whole life. Perhaps you haven’t been paying attention and need some time to make a coherent argument”

The show sucks, but minstrel show comparisons are not appropriate.

“has a mental illness”

That did happen in one of Anne Rice's books. It was... very detailed.

No, that was only a rumour that has been debunked by the BBC awhile ago.

You... know this isn't the first or even second time the Doctor has has three companions, right?

That was never true. It was just a rumour that has now been debunked.

I'd really love to see Doctor Who's music go back to its experimental electronic roots rather than stay orchestral.
