+1 for the rotary engine. They sound awesome in all forms. From the smooth sounding normal engines, to peripheral ported engines that sound like angry beehives from hell carrying chainsaws.

I live 10 minutes from Altamont Pass and see the raceway everytime I drive to Livermore. I was under the impression it was closed for good after locals claimed it was "noisy". Sure seems like its closed when I look at it.

I would be hoping for something closer to a 500 lb weight reduction. 400 lbs would put it at about the same weight as a Camaro. Less weight. More horsepower. More Cuda. That's what I want.

Assuming its an older car. Replace/upgrade to polyurethane bushings. Having play and slop in your suspension won't allow other suspension and tire mods to do their job effectively.

I had an audi 5000 s for a bit. Weighs a ton, but it was super smooth in its ride and didn't get stuck in heavy snow. I read about this acceleration thing and it kinda sucks how things worked out for audi.

i sadly have to agree. At least for uphill traffic, with a stiff clutch while having to go to the restroom on the way to pumpkin festival in half moon bay.. never again..

The best reason is because you want to. Beyond that its just useful. If you can drive a stick, you can drive essentially any car. Which may prove life saving one day. Just like swimming, not exactly necessary, but a useful skill to have.
