I was coming in to see if anyone tagged Molly on Paglia. Glad you did!

May I remind you of the words of John Stweart?

They bring her back whenever the moon is full and bright red, as foretold in the Book of Revelations.

Isn't this the same scholar who wrote: "Male urination really is a kind of accomplishment, an arc of transcendence. A woman merely waters the ground she stands on."

Camille has survived for two reasons. 1. She got tenure at a small, newly-established university eager to assemble some hot new faculty members (and she was hot for 10 minutes in 1990). 2. Her work is so densely packed with intellectual errors, incoherent assertions, and just plain old bullshit, few people have the

Camille Pagila, speaking as a man, i would request that you stop speaking for us since you don't seem to know what the fuck you are talking about.

I loved Paglia as a young, misguided feminist who liked Feminism, but loved men and thought, like Paglia, that Feminists were just being hypocritical about it. (Also, Paglia is from roughly the same part of New York State as I.) Then I discovered facts and realized that Paglia was full of shit.

[Who hurt you, Camille?]

Shorter every Paglia essay ever: Women are stupid c**ts. Except for me, of course.

But I do love her urban dictionary entry:

On the other hand, she seems to have gotten through an entire essay without mentioning Madonna. This is actually kind of a miracle.

Space bears.

Yes. In the tropics, we are all confident in our sexualities, and there is no need for feminism because when guys sexually harass us in the workplace, we just laugh it off.

Paglia's the sort of person who views injured people as weak when she hasn't experienced the same injury. She jests at scars that never felt a wound. Also, her fetishisization of men is pretty disgusting. Does she still think rape is something grand and wild and the result of untamed bacchanalian ardor? She, Katie

I grew up in the US, so I think I instinctually understand the way we see race, but apparently we are known for having rules about race that are different from other places and hard for foreigners to understand, so I get your confusion. Also, it makes sense that rules about race are arbitrary for each culture, because

I think what's open for debate is whether they had anything like the modern concept of race. Back then, people were much more concerned with where you were from than what you looked like.

The distinction you make about what's acceptable at drag shows vs. nationally televised shows is interesting. But as cult followings are such de rigeur in the LGBT community, the idea that drag queens are truly mainstream is very new. I imagine they still fancy their audience to be enough of niche who all "get it."

Don't say sorry if you don't fucking mean it, it makes you look like a larger asshole.

Sorry but I don't support this man and I wish the Black community (and everyone else) would stand up more when Black women and girls are sexually abused.
