I am the EXACT SAME WAY. More often than not, my tears stem from anger or frustration, not from sorrow. I hate this, I find it mortifying, especially if I'm in a fight and want nothing more than to be articulate and firm. It makes me feel weak.

Word. I prefer to get away for a little bit in order to calm down and collect my thoughts. After an argument, I need time before I can hang out and pretend everything's normal. I was shocked the other day when my husband called this behavior "punishment." I don't withdraw to punish him; I withdraw to heal myself.
