So, we have to pick one or the other: healthcare/housing OR not using slurs to make billions of dollars for the NFL and Dan Snyder?

I'm not sure your characterization of the rebuttals against the Annenburg poll is fair. That they surveyed self-identified Indians isn't the problem. It's more that it presented a dichotomy between "I'm offended" and "Doesn't bother me" with nothing in between, and didn't get into any depth about the use of Indian…
So its just a made up word the Washington football team came up with to denote the football team?
I'm sure you'd be first in line to see the Atlanta False Equivalencies.
There is a super easy test to see if your team name is racist or not, would you ever use that word in general conversation or communication. In the Redskins case, OF COURSE NOT. Take any refernece to Native Americans or Indians (start with Daniel Snyders op-ed piece from the other day) and replace Native American with…
That's true. Riders also include technical requirements for the show. Van Halen started doing it s a quick way to check how closely the venue had read the document. If they saw brown m&m's, they knew they had to double check all the technical requirements. David Lee Roth wrote about it in his autobiography.
That just looks really painful. Gurl, get yo'self some Clarks!
First I read this:
Actually, Madonna is an incredible dancer. She went to UMich on a dance scholarship and did it professionally before her stardom. She's not a great singer, but I think she's completely on level with Spears. (meaning neither of them are any good - I've honestly heard MUCH better singing at my own HS's yearly musical)
I still don't understand how she can be well enough to perform so frequently, but not well enough to control her own money. Why is she under a conservatorship still??
I just opined about this exact thing in the Sinead O'connor/Miley advice thread less than an hour ago.
Hasn't she made enough? Can't she be allowed to just take a few years off, or forever off, if she wants to?
1) Why don't we get rid of all reality stars except the Kardashians and then they can be uber-famous like they want and I don't have to look at tabloid covers in the checkout line and go "I really have no idea who that woman is. Why is she on the cover of Star?"
It's interesting to compare those tiny living spaces between countries...
In Japan, I've seen tiny rooms without toilets or showers. Toilet was shared, and baths only on public baths.
For Korean rooms it seems it's a necessity to have at least an individual toilet, shower and sink, no matter how small the living space…
What the f are we going to do without another show about selling houses?
Did the market not develop for the Hot Markets Topeka spinoff?
I'm a rage crier. I think it comes from being "trained" as a child that showing anger was never acceptable and would earn me a spanking. The only times I ever cry are out of pure misery or anger/frustration. It is not something I can turn on or off and is really embarrassing; I know it makes people view me as…
I am the EXACT SAME WAY. More often than not, my tears stem from anger or frustration, not from sorrow. I hate this, I find it mortifying, especially if I'm in a fight and want nothing more than to be articulate and firm. It makes me feel weak.
Word. I prefer to get away for a little bit in order to calm down and collect my thoughts. After an argument, I need time before I can hang out and pretend everything's normal. I was shocked the other day when my husband called this behavior "punishment." I don't withdraw to punish him; I withdraw to heal myself.
Sometimes withdrawal is just a natural response. Relationships are hard. Sometimes people fight. Sometimes people hold back from saying something they want to say because they know it will be spoken in the heat of the moment and might regret it later.
