I air dry my clothes and once dry they smell clean. No vinegar smell at all. I don’t have a dryer, so I can’t promise anything about that, but just air drying works just fine. Bonus points for drying outside where the wind will prevent stiffness in the fabric.

I have one of those machines with a drawer that will release the stuff in the correct cycle, so I just use the fabric softener spot to pour in my vinegar. (I’m not sure if the stuff I use is the exact same as white vinegar, since in the Netherlands it’s called “schoonmaakazijn” or cleaning vinegar, so I presume it’s

Or allergic. Thanks a lot. I’m not going to make my family suffer all day every day and visit the hospital for respiratory issues every day because of a pet, how much I may love that pet is irrelevant.

I’m not sure which point your referring to here?

Well, just as info that your sister may be right, and also a 6-month-old does not need cowmilk. I have no toddlers and have no problem with giving them milk, just not to babies (until roughly 12 months at least) especially not if their not weaned.

Re: dairy, so long as a baby is not weaned, it’s getting all the nutrition it needs from mothers milk. Dairy is not recommended for kids under 11/12 months.

Co-sleeping here (that is the Netherlands) is encouraged but only with special co-sleeping cribs that attach to the bed, or (not sure how to call them) pillow nests (?) so rolling over or suffacating a baby with a duvet is impossible (or at least VERY unlikely).

As an aside, (presuming this is about SIDS) not true. Only if you or the duvet sits on top of the baby. In the Netherlands (where I live) co-sleeping is encouraged with cribs and if a bed is wide enough a sort of pillow nest to sit in between the parents.

Only if you do it wrong. Also, then it’s not SIDS. Because the cause is known (suffocated by parent and/or duvet). There are co-sleeping cribs that attach to the bed so baby is next to parent, but also safe.

She wrote tolerant though, not intolerant. :) Europeans are more likely to tolerate dairy, less so for Africans or Asians.

Babies can get acne too. It is not reserved for teens. Hormones do have an effect of course, but other causes exist too.

Milk isn’t neccesarily good for people, we evolved to take nutrients for it in Europe but less so in Africa and Asia. Sleeping with your kid in one bed is encouraged (that is, here in the Netherlands) until they are a little older and maybe weaning. The only thing I totally agree on with you is vaccinations. Those are

So... her clothing choices prohibit empathy now?

Even if you knew, when in a panic you don’t always think clearly. The first number I wanted to call in an emergency was my mum. (I was 17 at the time, but still) If a number has not been drilled into you like your local emergency number has, it’s hard to remember a new number.

911 will also work on most phones and in most countries in the EU as far as I know. I mean, sure looking into it to be sure is safest, but if you’re in a panic the familiar number will work too. :)

Most emergency numbers work on most phones. So if you call 112 or 911 or 999 you will get connected to the nearest emergency service.

For future reference, most phones connect you with emergency services if you dial any emergency number.

Re: possible chinese person in London, there were and always have been people of all colours living in big cities. Even in the dark ages, travel and trade were still a thing and big ports tended to atract all people. There had been contact between Africa, Asia and Europe for a long ass time, that shit didn’t start in

If you care for Gaskell’s stories and more humour than in North&South, might I recommend Wives and Daughters. I love hating Hyacinth, and the squire is adorable with his wife. Molly is a little too perfectly good all the time, but I love this series. :)
