Yeah, I did that in secondary school, pretend to like stuff cause some guy I liked did. But thankfully I grew out of it and developed my own tastes. If people think it’s stupid I like X then they are not potential friends. :P My bf likes cars etc because his whole family is obsessed, but he doesn’t expect me to attend

Yeah, I thought the same thing. He took out all of the good things about Austen and replaced them with fighting and zombies. This is a bad fanfic that neither appeals to Austen fans on accord of the zombies, and doesn’t appeal to zombie fans on accord of the Regency. I feel very meh about the book as a result. I don’t

Agreed :) Thankfully I don’t have to fly frequently but I feel for those that do.

My legs are long enought that I have to deal with that too. That or seats are just too fucking close together. I’m also not thin, so the added problem of hips plus length means I inadvertenly push up the armrest. Sometimes the armrests are stuck in place or need a button to release, but occasionally they don’t and I

Those of us whose circulation is cut off by the armrest sticking into our legs. Although I never put it up without asking, and preferably only if I know the person. But on the flights I’ve been on recently, the armrest was unmovable.

He dumped her so... Also Dean is/was an asshole especially later on. But then again I think most of the boyfriends are assholes. Dean for cheating, Jess for running away and Logan for all his asshole ways.

:D Fair enough, flip out is justified (still not I would say a great example though, he could’ve just talked and convinced the merchants and pimps etc. :P )

Thanks. :) You to! Having an actual conversation on the internet is rarer on public forums than I’d like it to be, so yay. :P

Thank you for this. :)

So why use the book at all? You are your own compass and the book has so much bad and some good to offer. Why not disregard it alltogether and just use your own judgement. To me the bible adds nothing that I couldn’t think of on my own.

For me the problem is, how do you know which parts are to be ignored (as not from god and badly interpreted through the ages) and which parts to follow? There’s no handy guide to the side which parts you can ignore. While I’m glad you do ignore the bad stuff (and boy is there a lot of it) you yourself decide which

Relative genetic diversity. She was still a pretty high ranking British noble so it’s not like they went to someone totally out of their “comfort zone”.

This. So many people forget. “I’m harrassed online” “It’s only the internet, so it’s not real.” The internet is real, just as real as my real life, why is it so hard for people to see that? (Sorry not totally related to the subject, but something I find important)

I’ve never been to the US, so I can’t comment on actual men, but I can say that many US sitcoms are broadcast in the Netherlands too. So I don’t know if their influence is only felt in the US, but I would guess not. I don’t know of course, I’m no expert.

Well I have no idea how the data in the US was gathered, the Dutch research calls it unintended pregnancies, or unwanted, and includes those women who choose to end the pregnancies via abortion. It doesn’t call them unplanned, so perhaps they included uncorrect usage of contraception. I presume so, but I have no way

Helmets are a pet peeve of mine since they only work in very specific situations and none of them are in traffic. :P Anyway, it’s not as if that attitude is somehow only American, it’s part of humanity so that really doesn’t explain this big a difference to me.

So American women are in way more disfunctional relationships than Dutch? Or American men don’t want kids and Dutch ones do? I doubt that this big a difference is purely because of that, because that has me even more worried about the relationships Americans are in, if they are willing to manipulate their partners so

HALF (!!!) of American women get pregnant unintentionally? I just looked it up, and that number is 13% in the Netherlands. I really wonder what could be the cause... Oh wait. But seriously, that is a lot! Is this purely because of poor sexual education? Or is it that uninsured or poor women have no access to birth

I wonder how much she could agree to anything. She has been kept ignorant by her parents, by her church, and the fact that some people dare leave such a sheltered existence doesn’t mean everyone does, or is able to.

Just this. Also all those people saying it’s just the way it is. So what? Change the way shit is.
