My best advice to you is to skip Canberra. I lived there for 5 years and it’s an ok place, but if you’re coming all the way to Australia, there are a million other, nicer places I’d recommend. Weather in the south will be cool, but not cold. Brisbane should still be pretty warm, I’m there right now and it’s about 28C…

I’m Australian, and we do the Times cryptic. Aussies tend to be pretty up-to-date with all things from the motherland, so it’s not really a problem for us. I don’t know of any American ones, sorry! I like to have fish and salad. I make a salad with baby spinach, grape tomatoes, beetroot, fennel, orange slices and feta that goes very nicely with a piece of grilled fish.

It was such a fun day! I had two full sites to read so it meant I did nothing else all day, but so worth it.
